ABOUT THE KAI FOUNDATION
November 20, 2015 - setting the foundation for the Foundation.
In 2015, The KAI Foundation was created with the goal of giving back to some of the communities that have given KAI and our travel partners so much over the years. The Foundation, headed by KAI Chairman Henry Kartagener, is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization fully funded by private donations.
The first, and largest, undertaking of the Foundation was the construction of a maternity ward in Mugarameno, Zambia. Construction was completed in December 2016 and serves as a safe & sterile facility for the thousands of women in the surrounding communities to deliver their babies.
In the years since, the KAI Foundation as remained committed to ensuring that the Claire Kartagener Maternity Ward maintains its immaculate standards.
However, we have also identified other worth projects and supported initiatives in Kenya, Uganda, and Cambodia - where we are sponsoring Mebon Primary School by upgrading the facilities and improving learning conditions for hundreds of children.
